Children are very welcome at The Spring Knitting & Stitching Show in Edinburgh, in fact we actively encourage you to bring your little ones and get them involved in craft. There are plenty of opportunities for children of ages to have a go at knitting, crochet, embroidery and more.
Under 5s are free of charge. From 5-18 years, tickets cost £6 in advance or £7 on the door.
Although we don’t have a Children’s area as such, there are a number of things your children will enjoy at the show.
Crafters in Action
The kids can sit and watch demos on anything from upcycling to machine knitting, beadwork to feltmaking.
The Creative Living Theatre
Come and watch leading sewers as they demonstrate their techniques in a range of free demonstrations.
The Butterfly Garden
Inspire your kids to get into knitting and come and view the 90ft all knitted Garden.
Many of the workshops in the Learning Curve are suitable for children as long as they have adult supervision. The price is the same as it covers materials and tuition, but there are hundreds on offer. Places sell fast so advance booking is advisable.
There are baby changing facilities within the main ladies toilets. It’s fine to bring a buggy and the show is on one level.
If you are looking to come the show as part of a school party then make sure you take advantage of our discounted group booking scheme.
