The Festival of Quilts Competition is going virtual!

Calling all quilters – we have some good news! This year our sister show The Festival of Quilts annual quilting competition will be going ahead… virtually!

There is something for every level and style of quilting, with 12 different categories to choose from including Modern, Contemporary, Pictorial and Novice. The Entries will be judged from photographs uploaded via the entry form.

To make sure your masterpiece gets the spotlight it deserves, all entries will be displayed on The Festival of Quilts website as part of a virtual gallery. Selected stand out pieces in each category will also be featured in a special one-off Festival of Quilts magazine.

What’s more, winning pieces across each category will be taking pride of place amongst the Textile Galleries at The Knitting & Stitching Shows in autumn and receiving a £500 cash prize.

If that’s not enough to tempt you, the Handi Quilter Best in Competition quilt will be awarded £1500!

There’s never been a better time to make a quilt. The Festival of Quilts has hosted Europe’s largest quilt competition for 17 years and is usually one of the biggest show attractions of the show, with over 800 entries.

Festival of Quilts can’t run the show this year but they are not going to let that get in the way!

So what are you waiting for? Get quilting!

K&S Special Edition Important Update

It is with much sadness that we will be cancelling The Knitting and Stitching Show Special Edition, due to take place at Alexandra Palace in October 2020.

We pride ourselves on delivering a great experience for anyone with a love of textile based crafts and although we are confident in the safety measures we have in place at the event, following the Government’s recent announcement about ‘the rule of six’, in addition to the uncertainty surrounding the Government ‘green light’ for events, we believe it is better to be decisive now.

We know this will be disappointing for all involved and we would like to thank you, our exhibitors and contributors for your ongoing support.
