CIT Crawford College of Art & Design (CCAD) is a vibrant multi-campus College in Cork, which has been providing education and research in the arts for over 200 years. We offer a BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Applied Art: Ceramics/Glass/Textiles, that allows students the option of a full-time concentration in art-led textiles, or a multi-disciplinary mix of textiles with glass and/or ceramics.

Our show features a variety of art works from recent graduates and current students of our Contemporary Applied Art Degree; our Art Textile Certificate (part-time) Level 8 course; and our Level 7 Textiles evening course. We showcase a great diversity in concept, technique, and material, in 2/D and 3/D works of stitching, felting, print, plastics manipulation, construction, papermaking, and individual techniques. Sketchbooks of developmental studies accompany many of the works, showing the conceptual approach that is our ethos at the Crawford—a kind of thinking through making—in the context of fine art and applied art, under the enthusiastic guidance of lecturers Pamela Hardesty and Caroline Smith.
