Georgina, a well-known embroidery artist, designer and tutor shows you how to make this cute mini 3D goldwork bumblebee. By working pad work to create a 3D stumpwork shape, applying pearl purl, cutwork and using metal threads, otherwise known as chipping.

  • Gold pearl purl 1
  • Thick Felt 4 x 4cm square
  • Thin Felt 4 x 4cm square
  • Thin white Felt 2 x 2cm square
  • Jewellery wire – 15cm
  • Gold purl
  • Black metal purl
  • Silver check purl
  • 4 inch embroidery hoop
  • Organza – enough to fill a 10cm (4 inch) hoop
  • Beading needle
  • Embroidery scissors
  • Gold pearl purl 1
