In this 90 minute class Hannah will demonstrate some basic embroidery techniques and how to successfully create different stitches. You will learn everything from how to thread the needle all the way through to finishing and backing your piece.

Materials

Alternatively, a kit is available from the tutor, which includes a hoop, calico fabric, thread, crewel needle, marking pen and backing felt, priced at £35.

You will need:
- 4” Embroidery Hoop
- 5 x 5” calico fabric or similar
- Embroidery Threads – DMC or similar: At least 3 shades of green and a colour scheme of your choice
- Embroidery scissors
- Size 5 crewel needle
- Sharp pencil or water/ air/ heat soluble pen
- Optional: 5 x 5 felt for backing
- Optional: Needle threader
