The talented artist, maker and creator of flowers-on-tulle embroidery discovered the unique technique whilst experimenting with two of her passions: flower arranging and embroidery. In the process of making a wreath using dried botanicals, embroidery hoops and tulle, she stumbled upon the enchantingly ethereal floating flower aesthetic, which she is now famous for.
Olga has recently published her first book; ‘Dried Flower Embroidery: An introduction to the art of flowers on tulle’ which explains the tools and techniques of this new craft, and explores which natural materials are suitable for creating with. The book has 15 step-by-step projects from her signature embroidery hoops, to clocks, mirrors, lampshades and accessories.
Olga finds inspiration from her garden and the countryside and often uses wildflowers and foliage that she has foraged on walks around her home in North Yorkshire. She most enjoys using pastel colours but also enjoys adding a splash of red to her work every now and then.
