Children & School Activities

Children are very welcome at The Knitting & Stitching Show and there are plenty of activities for children and students to take part in.

Knitting and crochet drop-ins
Learn the basics of knitting and crochet, including casting on and off and some of the simple stitches. Whatever level your kids are at they can have a go and be shown by the experts.

Crafters in Action
The kids can sit and watch demos on anything from upcycling to machine knitting, beadwork to feltmaking.

Textile Galleries
Inspire your children or students with textile art by some of the UK’s most renowned artists. We also have work from several universities in and around Harrogate which gives students the perfect opportunity to learn from their peers.

Workshops
Many of the workshops in the Learning Curve are suitable for children as long as they have adult supervision. The price is the same as it covers materials and tuition, but there are hundreds on offer. Places sell fast so advance booking is advisable.

The Campaign for Creativity
This year we have been campaigning for better opportunities for creative learning with the education system. If you want to support our campaign please stitch your name on our stitched petition which will be displayed at the show.
