What is Knit for North Yorkshire?
Knit for North Yorkshire is a campaign run in partnership with BBC Radio York. The aim of the campaign is to distribute scarves this Winter to the people who need them most. Knit for Yorkshire have set a challenge to collect 1,000 scarves. They can be any size, any pattern, knitted or crochet (even the occasional snood or shawl is allowed).
Once collected, they will go to Age UK, food banks, and various homelessness charities who will distribute them to the people they work with.
Knit or crochet a stocking for our Christmas appeal. Drop of your knitted stockings at the drop in knitting and crochet area. These will be sold at the show to raise money for Mind a mental health charity that is known to use craft to tackle health issues.
