“The Royal School of Needlework (RSN) is the international centre of excellence for the art of hand embroidery, offering a range of courses for beginners through to advanced.

Steeped in history with unrivalled expertise in the techniques of hand embroidery, the RSN has taken this captivating, traditional art and made it relevant today. Students can choose to study Day Classes, the Certificate & Diploma in Technical Hand Embroidery, BA (Hons) Hand Embroidery for Fashion, Interiors, Textile Art or the RSN’s Future Tutors programme.

Students learn different techniques, including Crewelwork, Blackwork, Silk Shading and Goldwork. Tuition is delivered in small, friendly classes with expert RSN Tutors bringing a wealth of experience, technical knowledge and enthusiasm to each student.

The RSN is based at Hampton Court Palace, London, and also teaches in Exeter, Bristol, Rugby, Durham and Glasgow.

The RSN Embroidery Studio creates beautiful bespoke commissions for the future as well as restoring historical textiles and bringing heirlooms back to life. Customers come from all over the world, including fashion designers, Oscar nominees, cathedrals, private individuals and the Royal Family. The RSN’s close links with royalty started when it was founded in 1872, and still continue today with Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall, as Patron.”

We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors The Knitting & Stitching Show in October for what promises to be a great event. That said, our number one priority is to ensure we protect the health and wellbeing of our visitors and exhibitors, and we will closely follow the government and their medical advisers’ recommendations to ensure we do this.

The show will go ahead, unless we’re advised or told to cancel or delay at the request of the UK Government, which we will then do without hesitation. If this is the case we will issue a refund for all tickets and workshops booked via See Tickets, (if you booked through a third party please contact them directly). We won’t take risks with your safety and we will do as the Government advises.
