What’s different about Special Edition

The Knitting & Stitching Show Special Edition will offer an exciting programme of over 160 workshops on a huge host of subjects as well as a dedicated Shopping Village comprising approximately 100 companies selling all your favourite craft supplies.

Unlike the traditional Knitting & Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace, this ‘Special Edition’ event will not offer the Textile Galleries or features our visitors are used to seeing, but it will offer two of the best-loved elements of the show – shopping and learning – in a safe, spacious environment.

We will have a significant cap on attendance to ensure we are complying with density guidelines, to ensure visitors, exhibitors and staff are as safe as possible.

The Shopping Village

Enjoy the chance to shop from approximately 100 exhibitors offering a range of craft supplies across knitting, crochet, dressmaking, quilting, embroidery and other textile crafts.

Tickets for the Shopping Village will be timed for a morning (9.30am – 1.30pm) and afternoon entry (2pm – 6pm/ 5:30pm on Sunday) ensuring a limited number of people in the building at any time.

Expect a more airy hall, with wide aisles to accommodate for social distancing.

The Workshops

Choose from over 160 classes on all your favourite subjects including dressmaking, patchwork & quilting, hand embroidery, crochet, knitting and more. Most classes are two hours in length and all rooms will be much larger than normal to allow for social distancing.

NB Workshop tickets do not include access to the Shopping Village. If you wish to attend a workshop AND shop, you will need to purchase a separate ticket for each. Please be mindful of the timing of your class (and of your shopping session) to avoid disappointment.

Timed Entry

The Special Edition Show has been curated to ensure we can deliver a wonderful day out, within the parameters of government guidelines, operating under the industry’s All Secure Standard – a comprehensive set of guidelines to keep you safe at our events.

Timed entry will give you the option to purchase either a Morning Entry Ticket or Afternoon Entry Ticket.

If you want to attend for the full day you will need to book both ticket options, but we believe one session will be plenty of time to get your shopping done.

A Limit On The Usual Show Features

Due to space limitations within the venue we are unable to present our full line up this year, but don’t worry, we hope to be back to normal in 2021! Features on hold for 2020 include: The Textile Galleries, The Creative Living Theatre, The Innovation Station, The Fashion Show, The Graduate Showcase, Knitworking, The Craft Village and the Prosecco Bar.
