In this 2-hour class relax and enjoy learning the technique of knitting a hat from the top down. During the class you will cast on and complete the crown of your top down hat, instructions will be provided for you to complete the rest at home. You will learn long tail cast on, how to increase stitches, using magic loop knitting and how to avoid ladders and gaps.

This class is aimed at advanced beginners with knowledge of ‘magic loop’ knitting.

Materials you will need:

knit hat
  • 8mm circular knitting needles (80cm long)
  • 6 stitch markers (one stitch marker should be different to mark the beginning of the round
  • 100g of super chunky yarn
  • Darning needle for sewing in ends
  • Tape measure
  • Top down hat pattern in PDF format
  • Row counter not required but may be helpful
