I am a teacher and designer and I sell knitting kits, yarns my books and patterns via my website, the Knitknacks.

How did it all start?

I needed a career change and thought I could use my skills and transfer them to a new area which I did 10 years ago and haven’t looked back.

What inspires you?

Colours, nature, art and people.

What is your creation process?

Start with an image in my mind and turn it into a pattern. I use a computer to do the charts and add
written instructions.

What makes you, your brand or products unique?
I design 90% of what I sell.

What is your next project?

A festive hotwaterbottle cover.

What are your plans for the next 12 months?

To expand my workshops and create new designs and to travel.

What is your biggest achievement?

Designing a Christmas Stocking for a Marks and Spencer advert.

What is your best-selling product/line?

A sheep beanie

Nervousness at the cost of the stand and not knowing which products will sell.

What do you love about the Knitting & Stitching Shows?

Meeting a huge range of people and teaching people a new skill.

Enjoy what you do, use good materials, get feedback from friends and family.

Start small and get help with areas that are not your expertise.
